I believe that we, as humans, possess so many hidden strengths that can help us find the light in our lives again. Sometimes, we just need someone to help us see what we don’t see! I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to develop a personalized treatment plan that focuses on achievable goals and taking things one step at a time.
I primarily work with individuals (Adults, Young Adults and Teens) struggling with substance use disorder, depression, life adjustments and challenges, anxiety and OCD. I received my M.S in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and I have been in practice since January of 2023 when I began my practicum internship. I primarily practice from an Eclectic theoretical lens which has heavy focus on CBT and Humanistic Therapy with inclusions of DBT, ERP and Psychodynamic techniques. I enjoy working from an eclectic lens because it allows me to tailor my work in your therapeutic journey to your needs. In addition to traditional modalities, I enjoy incorporating creative activities into therapy sessions to help clients tap into their inner strengths and develop new coping skills. I am constantly engaging in workshops and additional training to learn new techniques that I can use to help the people that I work with.
I decided to pursue a career in clinical mental health counseling after experiencing my own journey with mental health struggles and finding relief and growth through my own therapeutic process. Therefore, I understand the discomfort and upset that happens when you feel powerless over your mental health struggles. My ultimate goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space that empowers you to find joy, serenity and autonomy within your life again. I believe that hope is never truly lost and I strive to work with you to find your lost dreams and awaken them! My favorite part of my work is seeing those that I work with re-find purpose, direction, fulfillment and enjoyment within their everyday lives.
Outside of my profession, I am a visual and audio artist and I enjoying spending time with my friends and family, traveling and being a proud dog mom to my two puppies, Dixie and Lyla.
