Master’s Student Intern
I am Adam Khalifa, a dedicated counselor-in-training currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. My passion lies in supporting individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges, including anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, depression, substance use, family difficulties, and significant life transitions.
My approach to counseling is strength-based, rooted in the belief that every individual possesses the innate capacity to overcome adversity and achieve personal growth. I strive to help clients explore and harness their unique strengths to build resilience and foster positive change. By creating a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship, I aim to guide clients toward achieving their goals and finding greater fulfillment in their lives.
Safety, respect, and adaptability are the cornerstone principles of my counseling practice. I am committed to providing a secure, non-judgmental space where clients feel supported in sharing their experiences and exploring their emotions. My approach is deeply respectful of each client’s individuality and tailored to meet their specific needs, ensuring a personalized and meaningful therapeutic journey.
Outside of my professional pursuits, I have a rich background in athletics, having played team sports and rugby during my university years. Staying active remains a vital part of my life, and I have recently discovered a passion for bouldering and rock climbing. Beyond physical activities, I enjoy listening to thought-provoking podcasts, spending quality time with my family, and exploring new cultures through travel. To date, I have visited 23 countries and am eager to continue expanding my horizons through future adventures.
With a combination of professional dedication, personal passion, and a commitment to growth, I strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I work with, empowering them to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and hope.
