I believe that you, as the client, are the expert of your own story. I am here to provide you with clinical approaches that are body-centered and relational in nature. I acknowledge that the way we interact with the world is informed by our previous and present relationships. Through a therapeutic relationship, you will find a stepping stone from which to develop a more meaningful way of being in the world. The human body has a tendency to hold on to unprocessed trauma. Through body-centered methods, you will gain the ability to process residual trauma and release that baggage. We will honor those parts of you that have held on to untreated trauma and find new meaning in those experiences. This is your therapeutic journey. My role is only to facilitate your encounter with authentic yourself.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in 2007. I spent the following ten years working with adolescents who had experienced traumatic relational wounds by their caregivers. I then earned my Master of Science degree from the University of St. Thomas specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019. Throughout my graduate studies, I facilitated groups at an Intensive Outpatient Program for individuals who were given a dual diagnosis of a mood or personality disorder and a substance use disorder. My clinical focus is working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or who have experienced complex trauma. I am particularly passionate about working with the recovery community. My personal experience makes me well-versed when working with individuals recovering from a substance use disorder. I have valuable experience working with couples and families. My therapy office is a place for unconditional empathy, acceptance, non-judgement, and growth regardless of your race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
I am an avid hiker when I am outside the office. I love discovering new hiking trails around town, but I especially love travelling to discover new trails. I love gardening, and right now I am obsessed with orchids and bromeliads.
