Life is so hectic and crazy these days that many of us run through life on autopilot. We lose focus of what is truly important to us and what gives our life fulfillment and meaning. We stop listening to our inner self!
I believe that Therapy should give you a quiet and peaceful space where you are able to create moments of reflection and gain a better understanding of who you truly are and who you want to become. Exploring what is holding you back, weighing you down, and then learning how to move yourself into a calmer, healthier space. Reaching new goals and making changes never comes easy. But all of us are so much stronger and more capable than we believe. The answers and tools we need are usually already there, all we need to do is learn how to access and use them. I work hard to create a safe space for all of my clients and use a client centered approach that is honest and supportive.
I enjoy working with young adults and adults from all types of backgrounds. I myself have a multicultural upbringing and know the struggle that can come with having to adjust to new environments and cultures as a child and young adult. My areas of interest are in depression, anxiety, relationships, parenthood, infertility, life transitions, and multicultural issues.
I always knew that I wanted to be a therapist and have a true love for my profession. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then went on to getting my Masters in Social Work from New Mexico State University in 2008.
